- If your interface is frozen
- Delete unused apps or close apps running in the background.
- If your app crashes
- Check that your phone and app have the latest updates.
- Screen not responding
- Restart your phone.
- If your app won’t download
- Try pausing and restarting the download. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your device.
- Close background apps
- All apps that are running on your device use memory. If you can’t launch or play your game, it may not have enough memory available to run. Close any other apps you have open and try launching your game again.

- Swipe up from the bottom left corner and pause slightly in the middle of the home screen.
- Swipe left or right to find the app.
- Swipe up to force-close the app.
- Relaunch the app.
- iPhone 8 or earlier
- Double-click the Home button to preview your recently used apps.
- Swipe right or left to view your open apps.
- Swipe up on the app’s preview to close it.
- Press the Home button and restart the app.
- iPhone X or later

Force restart your device
If the steps above to restart your game didn’t work, try restarting your iPhone or iPad.
Restart your Wi-Fi
- Head to Settings > General > Reset.
- Tap Reset Network Settings.
- Scroll down to see the Wi-Fi and Mobile Data sections.
Now, test your connection with these steps.
- If you’re using Mobile Data, turn Wi-Fi on and Mobile Data off.
- If Wi-Fi isn’t available, test this when you have Wi-Fi connection.
- Reinstall the app.
If these are out of sync with your actual location, they’ll throw off your phone and they’ll need to be corrected.
- If you’re using a VPN, disable it, then reload or reinstall your app.
- If the time and date don’t match your actual time zone, update it and see if everything starts working as normal.
You can connect online in two ways: Wi-Fi and Cellular Data. Try connecting to your game using Wi-Fi. If that doesn’t work, try connecting using Cellular Data.
You can control your online connections from your Settings menu. Tap Wi-Fi or Cellular and toggle the options on or off.

If you’re playing anonymously — not logged in to either an EA Account, Facebook, or Game Center — you can lose your game data if you uninstall and reinstall your app.
- Learn more about linking accounts and how important it is, so you don’t lose your progress.
- Back up your game account before uninstalling or reinstalling your game.
Clearing your Safari cache will help with certain games. Follow the steps listed in the Delete history, cache, and cookies section.
- Open your device’s Settings menu.
- Tap General.
- Tap Software Update.
Your device will tell you what iOS version you have and if you need to install an update.
Are your game apps updated?
- Open the App Store.
- Tap Updates.
- Tap Update beside any app that shows an available update.
Some apps require a Wi-Fi connection to update.
Install another app from the App Store
If you can’t launch any of your apps, there could be a problem with your Apple ID authorization. Reauthorize your Apple ID by downloading a new app from the App Store.
If you installed apps using multiple Apple IDs, do this for each account.
Reinstall the app

If the app still isn’t working, try uninstalling it from your device and installing it again.
- Touch and hold any app icon on the Home screen until the icons start to shake.
- Tap the X in the top corner of the app icon.
- Tap Delete to remove the app — and its data — from your device.
- Press the Home button.
- Open the App Store.
- Search for the app and reinstall it.
Did you reinstall your game and don’t see your progress? If you’ve linked your game to one of your accounts, don’t worry! It’s still there. Play through the game’s tutorials and you’ll be right back where you were.
If it’s a paid app, make sure you use the iTunes account you purchased the app with. If you use a different iTunes account, you’ll be charged again.

Usually 1 GB is enough data to install a game, but some games need more. To check out your storage:
Game Center Download
- Open your Settings.
- Go to General.
- Tap on About.
- Scroll down to see how many GBs you have left.
- If you have less than 1 GB, clear some space and try to install the game again.
Try on another device
If there’s still a problem after you’ve tried everything else, see if you can get the issue to happen on another device.
If you’ve got another device you can use, install the app on it and see if you have the same problem.
